For those interested in world history, the movie “Ghandi My
Father” (the spelling of the name is Indian)
will give them a personal insight of India’s
spiritual and political leader who came to be
known as “Father of India.” The movie explores
the relationship between the Mahatma and his
son, Harilal. It has moments of angst and
heart-rending dialogue. The son claims his
father is not interested in him and thus, lives
a life of dissipation. The viewer must judge for
himself if the son was justified in his claims,
or was he secretly feeling inferior to his
father, a well-loved public figure and saint?
