It
is a good deal because we really need the
advanced technology. Everything is good. The
time will come that it will be beneficial.
Here in the Philippines, every project (LRT,
MRT), they oppose it, but when it is done
they enjoy it because it is good for the
country. Just because they didn’t get the
project or that they didn’t get the contract
doesn’t mean it is bad.

My
impression is, why is there a mystery man in
the first place? It creates some suspicion.
There’s this book by Friedman, called The
World is Flat which says: “It does not
matter who is the boss but the one who knows
is the boss. The one who knows has the
power. Whoever knows will hold the aces.
Knowledge becomes translatable to
blackmail.” |

I think the whole
broadband deal is okay. But the politicians
who get kick-backs, that’s what’s wrong. But
I’m not saying that they are already guilty.
Certain projects are okay for the economy.

It
just shows how corrupt this government is.
They don’t know how to do it in a subtle
manner. It has turned brazen already because
of the amount involved at the expense of the
Filipino people. |

The government should have
an honest-to-goodness investigation on the
issue. And I hope something positive and
substantial comes out of the inquiry. |
