Once again, Filipinos have proven themselves worthy of world-class recognition! Three designers from Hoseki, one of the country’s premiere jewelry salons, garnered top awards at the prestigious Sixth International South Sea Pearl Jewellery Design Competition in Hong Kong. The competition was organized by the South Sea Pearl Consortium and aims to highlight the beauty and uniqueness of the South Sea Pearl while recognizing design talent from all over the world. Hoseki founder Faico’s “Fantasie Necklace,” Hoseki young designer Knoi Esmane’s “Phoenix Rising,” and Faico’s talented son Ivan Co’s “Force Bangle” beat out 700 international entries. Hoseki has consistently been winning South Sea Pearl design competitions since 1998. Congratulations to the ultra-creative and hardworking Hoseki team! May your masterpieces continue to bring glory to the Philippines!

Multi Kalakbay awardee Mandarin Oriental, Manila formally opened its posh new bar Martinis with much aplomb and excitement. The bar fully embraced its “James Bond” theme, complete with flashy sports cars and a silhouette opening dance number. Dapper GM Helmut Gaisberger played the part of Agent 007 and proposed a ceremonial toast with the five |

chosen debonair Distinctive Men of Style: BPI President Gigi Montinola, President and CEO of Weber Shandwick Mike Toledo, Rustan Supercenters Inc. President Donnie Tantoco, Techno Holdings Corp. Chairman Bill Stelton, and yours truly. Style and service done the Mandarin way – no wonder Manila’s urbanites and jazz-smart enthusiasts have made Martinis a favorite hub! See you there! |
