The US Embassy in Manila hosted a reception in honor of the Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, Admiral Timothy J. Keating last June 26. This was Admiral Keating’s first visit to the Philippines in his role as PACOM Commander, which he assumed in March 2007. He is a 36-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, and previously served as Commander of the U.S. Northern Command. The reception was held at the Charlie Parsons Ballroom in the US Embassy compound where guests from the Philippine government and armed forces, business, media and the diplomatic communities, and various friends of the US Embassy were treated to a sumptuous buffet prepared by US Ambassador Kristie Kenney’s staff while a military band played spirited tunes.
