“What do you think of Hillary Clinton’s bid for U.S. presidency?”

In my opinion, it’s a good thing to have a woman running for president. Hilary Clinton seems to be a good candidate as US President because I think it’s just fair to finally have a woman succeed in attaining such an important political role. Moreover, the US is said to be a nation that is just with its civil rights. It is a basic civil right for a woman to attain such a high position. In Chile, we have a female President, Michelle Bachelet. What concerns me about having a woman in government is that men may manipulate her. But Bachelet succeeded as President because of women, all the women of Chile supported her. If she were a man, she would not have won.

Hillary Clinton is forming a presidential exploratory committee in order to begin her conversation with the American citizens. If I’m not mistaken she is going to be the first woman candidate for the U.S. presidency if ever she will win the elections within the party. From my personal point of view, Hillary Clinton’s announcement represents a huge challenge for her and for the American people as well. Congratulations for the decision and good luck.

I welcome Senator Clinton’s candidacy and believe she is a well qualified candidate with good potential for the United States Presidency. Although it is far, far too early to tell, I am not confident that she will be able to overcome the antagonism that still exists in America toward her husband and the sexism and conservatism of the American public that might oppose a woman candidate.

In my opinion, Hillary Clinton has every right to run for president. Knowing the education plus the exposure she has had, having been the first lady and then a senator, I think she has the caliber to run the country. Personally, I admire the way she kept her public composure amidst the Lewinsky scandal. I think this is the kind of woman to put to the test of making a difference for the US and eventually the world.

I think that Hillary Clinton’s running for the presidency is a good idea since she has proven her capacity to take charge and be competent, at the same time, keep her composure during her tenure as first lady.

If Hillary Clinton is nominated and elected president
of the United States, it will be the first time that a woman would become the most powerful person in the world. I think it would send a strong message for women everywhere that they can be whatever they want to be. She can be a role model for women, too, as women are now occupying
positions normally occupied by men.
