The sheer delight
of
looking at schools of fish in deep, clear waters as our
boat treads through the sea may be an ordinary thing for
those who have become used to it. And yet, this
discovery brought smiles to the expat travelers who are
amazed by the clean clear waters. Beneath the surface
one can see rich marine life.
And it’s not often you see clear skies as if the clouds,
suspended in the atmosphere are pasted on them. That’s
how unpolluted Northern Samar’s air is, particularly the
town of San Antonio where one can truly appreciate the
beauty of nature.
Located off the coast of Allen, Samar, a 15-minute boat
ride away is the Haven of Fun Beach Resort in San
Antonio that could rival Boracay’s famed white powdery
sand. San Antonio’s feeling of spectacular isolation is
belied by its relative accessibility. It is secluded in
a cove and yet is just a short boat ride from Allen, a
convenient take off rest point entry to explore its
nearby attractions. |

The ride to and from
the resort offers a fresh perspective that indeed there
are so many unexplored places in the country that have
abundant natural charm in themselves. This prompted
other expat visitors to wish that they may keep the
place to themselves, isolated and untainted by global
commercialization. The visit, in fact, was arranged and
highly recommended by Norwegian businessman Chris F.
Bech and his expat friends who stay in nearby town,
Bobon.
According to repeat visitors, San Antonio is considered
by anyone seeking an alternative to the usual Boracay.
But while Boracay with all its splendor is crowded and
noisy due to commercialization, San Antonio is primarily
quiet and laid back, a perfect getaway for anyone
seeking to escape the harried pace of urban life. The
white sand beach is the prime attraction while
snorkeling and island hopping are the next popular
activities. Plus it has mesmerizing views of the nearby
Bulusan Volcano that is active once again and the
perfect coned Mayon Volcano.
